The Alternative School Group is the parent of a collection of independent schools. We were founded in May 2007 for all those young people who are not engaging with mainstream education. We are a DfE registered and approved independent school with current Good with Outstanding Leadership and Management Ofsted report.

Specialising in long term high needs provision, our education plans to meet a wide range of young people’s needs.

Specialising in using outdoor education & Forest School to engage pupils with high needs and SEN from KS3 & KS4.

The Alternative School offers a whole host of education packages to suit a variety of needs. We specialise in providing an alternative approach to education which is pupil centred.
We have been recognised throughout the years for our work, and were recently proud finalists of the Not for Profit business category in the Lancashire Business Awards.
